Fishtail plaits are very popular and can usually be seen at runway shows and in some of the more popular fashion magazines. It's a very versatile braid and is very elegant. If you would like to do a fishtail plait on your own hair you will need shampoo, conditioner, a comb, a rubber band, and any other kinds of hair accessories that you may want to use. The first thing that you should do is
. give your hair a good shampoo and conditioning. Be sure to rinse out conditioner, unless it is a leave-in conditioner. Detangle hair with a wide-toothed comb. Depending on the texture of the hair you may want to apply mousse, gel, or spritz so that the braid does not slip out. Divide hair into two parts. Start from the underside of the right side. Take a portion of hair and bring it up and over the right section and let it combine with the right side of the left section. Now take a piece from the underneath of the left section and do it the same way. Repeat this process until the braid is complete. Tie off the braid with a rubber band and apply hair accessories as you see fit.
