"Things needed for making your own lampshade are top and bottom rings, water-based glue, seam binding, adhesive styrene, natural fiber fabric, molding wand, bulldog clips and scissors.First wrap the rings tight with the seam binding and place a small amount of glue every few inches to hold the binding.Measure the circumference of the rings to determine the length of adhesive styrene needed and
. add 1 inch for seam allowance. Cut the styreme and the fabric using the measurements you calculated and add 1 inch to each side. Lay the styrene on the back of the fabric. Smooth wrinkles in fabric and trim edges. Next form the shade shape. Lay fabric on a flat surface. Pull the ends together. leaving a 1/2 inch seam overlap. Stand the shade up with the right side of the material facing outward. Place the ring inside the shade so it is even with the edge of the styrene. Place bulldog clips along entire lenght of the ring. Put glue on overhanging fabric and wrap over edge of ring. Turn the shade over and repeat for the other ring.Glue side seam, let shade dry."
